Scope of Position


The DC Asset Protection Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of up to 25+ associates across multiple shifts—including nights and weekends—while overseeing multi-site security operations. This role safeguards people, property, and inventory, while ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols. The Supervisor also manages truck gate and yard accuracy, investigates theft and fraud, and leverages data to strengthen asset protection strategies.


Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of 25+ associates, fostering accountability, engagement, and high performance.
  • Provide clear direction, set measurable goals, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Identify training needs and implement development programs to strengthen team skills.
  • Manage attendance, scheduling, and time-off requests.

Asset Protection

  • Develop and enforce initiatives to protect company assets, including people, property, and inventory.
  • Investigate theft, fraud, and security breaches; implement corrective measures to reduce future risks.
  • Oversee documentation, verification, and reporting of inbound/outbound shipments and yard audits, including end-of-month reporting.
  • Ensure security systems, technology, and equipment are functional and compliant with company standards.

Safe & Secure Operations

  • Support DC safety teams in maintaining compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with operations to enforce security protocols such as badge compliance and bag checks.

Partnership Building

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, including Operations, Safety, HR, Facilities, and Logistics.
  • Collaborate with external partners (e.g., law enforcement) when needed.
  • Serve as a liaison to promote cross-departmental collaboration and alignment with company goals.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Use data to identify risk trends and measure the effectiveness of security initiatives.
  • Generate and present reports on incidents, losses, and operational improvements to leadership.
  • Review WMS, YMS, and other reporting tools to monitor exceptions and implement corrective actions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage DC Lost & Found, security supply inventory, and security vehicle maintenance.
  • Support peer sites and third-party facilities as business needs require.


Qualifications


Education

  • Associate’s degree preferred (Criminal Justice, Business, or related field).

Certifications

  • Wicklander/Zulawski Interview Training preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years in asset protection, loss prevention, or related field (distribution/logistics environment preferred).
  • Experience managing teams of 15+ associates.
  • Working knowledge of security systems (CCTV, card access, burglary alarms).
  • Strong critical-thinking, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of asset protection or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in incident investigation and crisis management.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in support of 24/7 operations.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment requiring both office and on-the-floor presence.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent travel within a 25-mile radius; occasional travel to peer sites or off-site meetings
