About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our team in supporting the operation and maintenance of utility-scale wind turbines. This role involves performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety of wind energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of turbine components to identify wear, damage, or potential issues, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to turbine performance, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.

Documentation: Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with company protocols and regulatory requirements.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection systems.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and site personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and share best practices.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to turbine outages or faults, including after-hours emergencies, to minimize downtime and restore operations.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in wind energy technology, electrical, mechanical, or related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance or a related mechanical/electrical field.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Physical Requirements: Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 300 feet, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Certifications: Valid driver's license; certifications in CPR, First Aid, and OSHA safety standards are advantageous.

Travel: Willingness to travel to various wind farm sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific turbine models (e.g., GE, Siemens, Vestas).
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance related to wind energy operations.
