We are seeking a Renewable Energy Financial Analyst to support the evaluation, structuring, and financial modeling of renewable energy projects. This role involves analyzing project economics, assessing investment opportunities, and providing financial insights to drive decision-making in the development and acquisition of solar, wind, and other clean energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects, incorporating cash flow forecasting, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and return on investment (ROI) calculations.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to evaluate project risks and opportunities.
- Assess levelized cost of energy (LCOE), internal rate of return (IRR), and net present value (NPV) for projects.
- Project Valuation & Due Diligence:
- Support the financial assessment of project acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures.
- Perform due diligence on power purchase agreements (PPAs), tax incentives, and financing structures.
- Analyze market trends, regulatory policies, and pricing mechanisms to inform investment strategies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for renewable energy projects.
- Provide financial insights to support project financing, tax equity structuring, and debt financing.
- Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and renewable energy incentives.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with project developers, engineers, and legal teams to ensure financial feasibility.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and investment memos for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Support negotiations with lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, investment evaluation, or project finance, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling; experience with VBA, Python, or SQL is a plus.
- Understanding of renewable energy financing structures, including PPAs, tax equity, and debt financing.
- Strong knowledge of industry metrics such as LCOE, IRR, and NPV.
- Experience with energy market regulations, incentives, and carbon credit mechanisms is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
