A well-established renewable energy owner and operator is seeking a Wind Technician to support operations and maintenance at a modern utility-scale wind facility in Alberta.

This role offers hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment inspections while working as part of a collaborative operations team focused on safety, reliability, and long-term asset performance.

Location

This position is based at a rural wind facility near Drumheller, Alberta.

Candidates should be willing to live within a reasonable on-call response distance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

1. Safe and dependable wind operations and maintenance experience.
2. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
3. At least two years of utility-scale wind experience preferred.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication.
5. Flexibility for on-call work, changing priorities, and varying weather conditions.
6. Wind technician training, technical diploma, or applicable mechanical/electrical trade certification.

OEM experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience on comparable turbine platforms are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Diagnose faults using SCADA, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Grease, torque, inspect, and service turbine components.
• Replace mechanical components as needed.
• Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain company equipment.
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures.
• Build positive relationships with landowners, contractors, and stakeholders.

Preferred experience includes:
