Position: Implementation Specialist

Status: Independent Contractor (Incorporated)

Duration: 12 months + Extension | 35 hours/week

Location: Hybrid, 2 days on site in Vaughan, Ontario

Hourly Rate: $50–60/hour

Overview

Our client, a regulated Ontario utility, is rolling out a new enterprise system to manage their physical network assets. This role sits between their internal teams and the external vendor building it. Coordination, analysis, and hands-on data work in one seat. If you like owning the whole thread instead of one slice of it, this is it.

What You'll Work On

• Coordinating delivery: milestones, risks, dependencies, vendor management
• Running requirements workshops and mapping current and future state processes
• Writing SQL and Python for extraction, profiling, transformation and reconciliation
• Building automated data quality and validation checks
• Source-to-target mapping and post-migration reconciliation
• Test planning and execution across integration, system, regression and UAT
• Cutover, go-live and hypercare support

Contract Details

• 12 months, September 2026 to September 2027 with possible extensions 
• 35 hours per week
• Two days on site in the GTA, three remote
• Up to three unpaid weeks off over the term

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on SQL, currently and regularly
• Working Python. Scripts for data extraction, profiling, transformation and validation. Power BI and Tableau do not substitute for scripting
• Data migration with named source and target systems: profiling, mapping, transformation rules, reconciliation
• Requirements gathering and workshop facilitation
• Implementation coordination: vendor management, releases, cutover, go-live, hypercare
• Bonus: PMP or CBAP, GIS, network models, asset management systems, or utility, energy or other asset-heavy industry background
