Dental Hygienist (Part-Time, Periodontics)

Location: Stamford, CT 06905

Pay Range: $45–$50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to join a specialty periodontal environment focused on high-quality patient care, clinical excellence, and strong preventive/perio education. This role supports one-hour recall appointments and requires excellent documentation and patient communication. Hygienists also have opportunities for professional growth through a Hygiene Executive Committee that supports and leads the hygiene team.

• Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

• Periodontal experience strongly preferred
• Additional days may be available at nearby locations for candidates seeking more hours

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge-level care with exceptional chairside manner while building trust with patients
• Enhance oral health by identifying signs of periodontal disease and potential oral cancers
• Thoroughly document and review patient medical histories and chief complaints
• Take x-rays and intraoral images to support treatment planning and monitor progress/changes
• Conduct precise oral hygiene procedures aligned with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist, with an emphasis on periodontal care
• Respond appropriately to sudden adverse developments during patient treatment and implement emergency measures when needed
• Provide clear instructions for at-home care and ongoing oral health maintenance

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in Connecticut
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong working knowledge of hygiene procedures, patient screening, and meticulous documentation
• Any additional certification or license required by the state to perform assigned duties
• Prior periodontal experience strongly preferred
