Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)

Pay Range: $44–$50/hour
Annualized Range: Approximately $54,900–$62,400 per year based on the standard three-day, 24-hour work week
Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to join a modern dental practice that prioritizes quality care, strong patient relationships, and a concierge-level clinical experience. This opportunity offers a consistent three-day schedule with additional flexibility to customize the days based on your availability.
Our hygienists are provided one-hour recall appointments, allowing adequate time to deliver thorough preventive care, educate patients, and build lasting relationships without feeling rushed. Responsibilities
- Provide concierge-level care with exceptional chairside manner while building trust and rapport with patients
- Enhance overall oral health by identifying signs of periodontal disease and potential oral cancers
- Thoroughly review and document patient medical histories and chief complaints
- Take diagnostic x-rays and intraoral images to assist with treatment planning and monitor patient progress
- Perform precise oral hygiene procedures aligned with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist
- Conduct periodontal assessments and provide appropriate preventive and periodontal care
- Respond appropriately to sudden adverse developments during patient treatment and implement emergency measures when necessary
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, at-home care, and long-term oral health maintenance
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide an exceptional patient experience
Qualifications
- Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in Rhode Island
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong working knowledge of comprehensive dentistry, including dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and clinical documentation
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
- Any additional certification or licensure required by the State of Rhode Island to perform assigned duties
