Registered Dental Hygienist
At Empire Family Dentistry, we help families keep healthy, confident smiles for life. As our Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be the trusted clinician who turns preventive care into lasting oral health—educating patients, spotting issues early, and partnering with our dentists so every visit feels personal, thorough, and worth coming back for.
Performance Objectives
- Deliver complete hygiene visits (assessment, scaling, polishing, fluoride, and tailored homecare coaching) that leave 95%+ of patients rating the experience as excellent and booking their next recall on the spot.
- Identify and document periodontal, caries, and soft-tissue findings so the doctor can diagnose and treat within the same appointment whenever possible, reducing the need for extra visits.
- Raise recall and treatment-acceptance rates by clearly explaining “why it matters” in everyday language and showing before-and-after intraoral images.
- Maintain a full, on-time schedule with less than 5% last-minute openings through proactive confirmation and same-day fill-ins.
- Keep operatories stocked, sterilized, and OSHA-compliant so the next patient is seated within minutes of the last one leaving.
- Mentor new team members on our protocols and patient-communication style so the entire hygiene department delivers a consistent Empire experience.
Environment & Resources
You will work alongside a small, collaborative team of dentists, another hygienist, and dedicated assistants in a modern family practice. Digital radiography, intraoral cameras, and current periodontal software are provided. You report directly to the lead dentist and have input on supply and continuing-education budgets.
Essential Qualifications
- Active state RDH license and current CPR/BLS.
- Proven ability to complete a thorough adult recare visit in the allotted time while still making the patient feel unhurried.
- Comfort discussing periodontal findings and treatment recommendations in a way that patients understand and act on.
- Experience with digital charting and intraoral photography (or quick learner with similar systems).
- Reliable, calm presence that puts children and anxious adults at ease.
Role Selling Points
- True family practice: you will treat grandparents, parents, and kids in the same week and watch their oral health improve over years, not months.
- Doctor-hygienist partnership: findings you uncover are acted on the same day whenever possible—no “come back later” runaround.
- Predictable schedule and respect for your time: we block appropriately and do not overbook.
- Continuing-education support so you stay current and confident.
