Dental Hygienist

Location: Port Jefferson, NY 11777

Pay Range: $48–$55/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to join a modern dental practice focused on quality care and a concierge-level patient experience. This role supports one-hour recall appointments, detailed documentation, and strong patient education. Hygienists also have opportunities for professional growth through a Hygiene Executive Committee that supports and leads the hygiene team.

Schedule

• Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Tuesday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
• Thursday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
• Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm

Additional Scheduling Notes

• Flexible for full-time or part-time days

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge-level care with exceptional chairside manner while building trust with patients
• Enhance oral health by identifying signs of periodontal disease and potential oral cancers
• Thoroughly document and review patient medical histories and chief complaints
• Take x-rays and intraoral images to support treatment planning and monitor progress/changes
• Perform precise oral hygiene procedures aligned with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist
• Respond appropriately to sudden adverse developments during patient treatment and implement emergency measures when needed
• Provide clear instructions for at-home care and ongoing oral health maintenance

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in New York
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong working knowledge of comprehensive dentistry, including hygiene procedures, patient screening, and meticulous documentation
• Any additional certification or license required by the state to perform assigned duties
