We are looking for a Terminal Manager for a client who provides national transportation for a niche market.
The Terminal Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations and Profit and Loss activity for the terminal. Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, and direct the loading and unloading of freight.
- Train, monitor, and enforce dock loading freight flow and bar-coding procedures.
- Manage the dock and driver personnel
- Provide executive management with financial reporting regarding the level of activity within the terminal.
- Manages all aspects (e.g., resolving complaints, reviews, payroll, home time, terminations) related to drivers and office employees and ensure all company policies & procedures are adhered to.
- Manage all transportation and logistics for shipments to customers
- Manage daily service requirements and client relationships
- Ensures all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
- Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
- Accounts for all shipments via a weekly service report.
- Ensures equipment and drivers are in place to provide on-time service and meet the demands of the customer.
- P&L responsibility and analyzes volume figures to forecast surges in business.
- Manages all aspects of document control as it relates to the account.
- Assist the Director of Operations while out of the office and with Account-wide projects as needed.
- Provide support when other Account Managers are out of the office or as positions are being filled
- Transportation experience in dispatch and/or operations supervision
- In depth knowledge of DOT and safety regulations
- Provide accurate and timely reports
Education and required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing a Cross dock Terminal
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing employees working for a trucking carrier company
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing truck drivers (LTL or FTL)
- Minimum 2 years’ Profit and Loss responsibility working for a trucking carrier company
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Terminal Manager (TM), Service Center Manager(SCM) or General Manager (GM) in charge of a facility for a trucking carrier company
- Thoroughly understand and have experience with LTL operations
