Job Title: DCC Business Development Manager

Position Overview

The DCC Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth within the Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) business by identifying, securing, and expanding strategic customer relationships. This role blends new business development with account expansion, working closely with Operations and internal stakeholders to deliver profitable, scalable dedicated solutions. Success in this role requires a consultative sales approach, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to translate customer needs into long-term transportation partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new Dedicated Contract Carriage opportunities through targeted prospecting and relationship development.
  • Expand and optimize existing dedicated accounts by increasing volume, revenue, and margin in partnership with Dedicated Operations.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies informed by market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive dynamics.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level customer relationships by proactively understanding needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Lead customer presentations, proposals, and contract discussions with a focus on value creation and long-term partnership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Safety, and Implementation teams to ensure successful onboarding and ongoing performance.
  • Anticipate, address, and resolve customer or operational challenges; develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activity, customer data, pricing, and contracts within company systems.
  • Contribute to a customer-centric, collaborative culture aligned with the company’s core values.

 

What You Bring

  • A proactive, self-directed approach to business development with a strong bias toward action and results.
  • Demonstrated success selling and growing Dedicated Contract Carriage or complex transportation solutions.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance revenue growth, margin performance, and operational feasibility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility across internal teams and with customers at various levels.
  • Composure and adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environments; comfortable managing ambiguity and change.
  • Willingness to support business needs outside traditional hours when required.
  • Experience within the Dedicated Transportation, 3PL, or logistics industry; a degree or diploma in business, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong technology skills, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools; ability to quickly adopt new platforms.
