Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst to support comprehensive quality assurance and software testing activities across complex applications. This role will be responsible for designing and executing manual and automated test cases, developing test plans and strategies, performing API and accessibility testing, validating application functionality, and documenting test results, defects, risks, and quality metrics.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience analyzing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop effective and reusable test scenarios. This position requires hands-on experience with web application automation, Java-based test frameworks, API testing, SQL, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and software quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify issues, communicate risks, and ensure applications meet functional, technical, accessibility, security, and performance expectations.
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases covering functional, integration, regression, accessibility, performance, data conversion, and post-deployment validation testing.
· Analyze business and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create effective and reusable test cases, including positive, negative, and boundary scenarios.
· Develop, maintain, and document detailed test plans, test strategies, test suites, and testing procedures.
· Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Client, REST Assured, APIRequestContext, or similar technologies.
· Automate web applications using testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or comparable tools.
· Develop clean, maintainable, object-oriented Java code to support automated testing frameworks.
· Create clear Gherkin scenarios using Given/When/Then syntax and implement corresponding Java step definitions.
· Execute automated test suites and analyze results to identify defects, regression issues, and application quality concerns.
· Generate testing reports, metrics, and other documentation to communicate test coverage, results, defects, risks, and overall application quality.
· Generate, acquire, prepare, and validate test data for functional, integration, database, and automated testing.
· Perform accessibility testing and validate applications against applicable ADA and accessibility requirements using tools such as JAWS, AccVerify, or similar technologies.
· Develop and maintain test suites across multiple application environments, including development, testing, user acceptance, and pre-production environments.
· Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using application lifecycle management and testing tools.
· Perform performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner, including test scripting, workload modeling, scenario execution, results analysis, and bottleneck identification.
· Write and execute SQL and PL/SQL queries, including SELECT statements and JOINs, to support test data preparation and validate application results against Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
· Use Git for source control, including branching, merging, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
· Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
· Work closely with developers, business analysts, product stakeholders, and other team members to clarify requirements and develop appropriate testing approaches.
· Communicate testing results, defects, risks, dependencies, and quality concerns clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Support secure application development practices and incorporate security considerations into software testing activities.
· Perform testing of mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms as needed.
· Utilize development and testing environments and frameworks such as Eclipse and TestNG to support automated testing activities.
· Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, automation frameworks, quality practices, and overall software delivery.
· Work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative, fast-paced Agile development environment.
Required Skills
· 5+ years of experience designing and executing manual and automated software test cases.
· 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop effective and reusable test cases, including positive, negative, and boundary testing.
· 5+ years of experience developing and documenting comprehensive test plans and testing strategies.
· 5+ years of experience performing API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Client, REST Assured, or similar technologies.
· Demonstrated experience automating web applications using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks.
· Strong experience writing clean, maintainable, object-oriented Java code for test automation.
· Experience developing Gherkin scenarios using Given/When/Then syntax and implementing Java-based step definitions.
· Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including SELECT statements, JOINs, test data preparation, and validation against Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
· Experience using Git for version control, including merging, pull requests, and collaborative development.
· Experience with software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes, including functional, user acceptance, system integration, accessibility, performance, regression, data conversion, and post-deployment validation testing.
· Experience generating testing reports, metrics, and test documentation.
· Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or comparable application lifecycle management platforms.
· Experience using an application lifecycle management/testing platform and its testing modules.
· Experience with ADA/accessibility compliance testing and accessibility testing tools.
· Understanding of the Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC) and secure software development practices.
· Experience working as an active participant in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field.
Preferred Skills
· Experience automating web applications using Playwright for Java.
· Strong background with Selenium WebDriver and browser automation strategies.
· Experience with TestNG, including test execution and test suite management.
· Experience with Eclipse as a Java development environment.
· Senior-level experience performing performance and load testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools.
· Experience with advanced workload modeling or CI/CD-based performance automation.
· Experience testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
· Experience with advanced API automation using REST Assured, APIRequestContext, or comparable frameworks.
· Experience with financial, government, or other highly regulated application environments.
· Experience working with multiple application environments, including DEV, UAT, QAT, and PRE-PROD.
· Experience integrating automated testing with application lifecycle management and CI/CD processes.
