Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Natural Developer to support the development, enhancement, modernization, and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise application. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Natural and ADABAS development in Linux environments, along with a strong understanding of enterprise system architecture, software development best practices, and large-scale case management systems. This role is responsible for designing and implementing application enhancements, supporting system integrations, maintaining critical business applications, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills while participating in an on-call support rotation and contributing to ongoing modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Natural and ADABAS.
· Develop, execute, and maintain Natural batch processes using JCL and/or SCL, as well as support online application processing.
· Analyze business and technical requirements to design scalable, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
· Support modernization efforts by integrating enterprise applications with APIs, web services, and emerging technologies.
· Perform analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of large-scale enterprise systems.
· Provide subject matter expertise on application architecture, system design, and technical solutions.
· Recommend system enhancements and process improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
· Interpret business requirements, including federal and state mandates, and translate them into technical solutions.
· Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, policies, procedures, and system specifications.
· Perform unit testing and support quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality application delivery.
· Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
· Train end users and technical staff on application functionality, processes, and enhancements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support multiple concurrent projects and technical initiatives.
· Participate in Agile development activities, including Scrum or iterative methodologies, as applicable.
· Participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure timely resolution of production issues.
Required Skills:
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· 10+ years of programming experience using Natural and ADABAS, including execution of Natural batch processes using JCL and/or SCL, as well as online processing.
· 2+ years of experience analyzing, designing, and programming large or complex applications in Linux environments.
· 4+ years of experience supporting automated child support systems or comparable large-scale case management systems.
· 3+ years of experience providing subject matter expertise on enterprise system architecture.
· 3+ years of experience recommending system enhancements and process improvements.
· 3+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and updating technical documentation, policies, procedures, and process documentation.
· 3+ years of experience training end users on enterprise software applications.
· 2+ years of experience interpreting, designing, and implementing federal and state mandates within enterprise Linux systems.
· 2+ years of knowledge and experience with child support policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
· Advanced proficiency with Natural programming.
· Advanced experience with ADABAS database development.
· Advanced experience performing unit testing and supporting quality assurance processes.
· Advanced proficiency working in Windows environments.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Intermediate experience working in Linux operating systems.
· Experience developing and consuming Web Services and APIs.
· Experience with NaturalONE (Software AG Designer).
· Experience with Scrum, Agile, or iterative software development methodologies.
· Experience using Jira Software.
· Experience working on multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience modernizing legacy applications and converting outdated technologies to modern platforms.
· Strong presentation, facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions for complex technical challenges.
· Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
