Job Title: Senior Scrum Master

Location: Remote (Applicants must be based in the United States)

About the Role

We are a fully remote technology company focused on delivering innovative solutions that strengthen critical government systems. Our current efforts center on building a secure, nationwide platform that enables efficient data exchange across states. Leveraging a microservices architecture within AWS, this system prioritizes reliability, scalability, and high availability. We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master who can guide agile teams and help drive the success of this initiative.

What You’ll Do

• Act as Scrum Master for one or more agile teams, enabling collaboration and alignment.
• Facilitate ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support product backlog refinement and help Product Owners establish priorities.
• Encourage teams to make data-driven decisions by leveraging metrics such as burndown, velocity, and cycle time.
• Anticipate and manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team blockers.
• Advocate for agile principles beyond your team, providing coaching and mentorship at multiple levels of the organization.
• Help maintain focus by removing obstacles and protecting teams from unnecessary distractions.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master in agile environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, LeSS).
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence both teams and leadership.
• Strong collaboration skills, with experience supporting distributed or cross-functional teams.
• U.S. Citizenship and current residency in the United States.
• Certifications are a plus: CSM, A-CSM, PSM II/III, SAFe Scrum Master.

Core Skills

• Proficiency with Jira or similar agile project management tools.
• Understanding of software development life cycle, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps concepts.
• Skilled at facilitating discussions, workshops, and conflict resolution.
• Experience driving continuous improvement through metrics and feedback loops.
• Proven track record of helping teams overcome challenges and remain productive.
• Ability to recognize systemic issues and recommend process improvements.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with integrity and self-motivation.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in compliance-heavy or mission-critical system environments.
• Background in development, system integration, or DevOps settings.
• Familiarity with product management concepts like roadmapping and backlog prioritization.
• Experience coaching executives or leading agile transformations.
• Knowledge of Lean practices and change management techniques.
