KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a Governance Analyst for an immediate contract engagement with our client.

  

Job Description:

We Are Seeking an experienced Governance Analyst to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance practices. This role will work closely with data owners, stewards, custodians, analysts, and business leaders to improve data quality, establish effective governance processes, protect sensitive information, and promote consistent data management practices across an organization.

The Governance Analyst will contribute to data stewardship, metadata management, centralized data access governance, policy development, data literacy, training, reporting, and governance operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable translating governance requirements into practical processes and guidance while building strong relationships across diverse business and technical teams.

Responsibilities:

·         Support data stewards in developing, maintaining, and improving data dictionaries, metadata, and other data management documentation.

·         Lead and support data stewardship initiatives designed to improve data quality, consistency, accountability, and usability.

·         Manage the intake, review, triage, and routing of internal and external data access and sharing requests.

·         Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for data requests, approvals, delegations, and related governance activities.

·         Coordinate data-sharing activities with appropriate legal and business stakeholders, including requirements related to agreements, retention, and data destruction.

·         Monitor request timelines, service-level expectations, and outstanding actions, escalating overdue or high-priority items as needed.

·         Identify and document technical metadata sources and business requirements needed to enrich enterprise data assets.

·         Maintain data catalog information, dataset documentation, reference materials, and other required metadata fields.

·         Develop and maintain data quality rules associated with critical data elements.

·         Monitor data quality issues, track remediation activities, and report metrics related to issue aging, resolution, and closure.

·         Draft, review, maintain, and operationalize data governance policies, standards, procedures, and standard operating procedures.

·         Translate governance policies into practical guidance covering data classification, handling, retention, protection, and appropriate use.

·         Maintain governance documentation repositories, SOP libraries, change histories, decision records, and related materials.

·         Develop and deliver data literacy, data stewardship, and governance training programs for employees and stakeholders.

·         Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve educational materials based on organizational needs and varying levels of data governance maturity.

·         Create and maintain job aids, templates, reference guides, stewardship resources, and other training materials.

·         Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, custodians, program leaders, analysts, and other stakeholders to establish priorities and support governance objectives.

·         Communicate complex data governance concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·         Build productive relationships across organizational teams while maintaining appropriate governance standards and controls.

·         Define, document, and monitor governance performance indicators, key performance indicators, and data quality metrics.

·         Prepare progress reports and other governance updates for leadership.

·         Support the development and periodic refinement of data governance roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

·         Identify opportunities to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness through better use, management, and governance of data assets.

·         Analyze governance challenges, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.

·         Incorporate stakeholder feedback and adjust governance approaches, processes, and materials as organizational needs evolve.

Required Skills

·         2+ years of experience working with Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog or a comparable enterprise data catalog and governance platform.

·         2+ years of experience demonstrating strong professional integrity, accountability, reliability, and work ethic.

·         2+ years of experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships across multiple organizational teams or business units.

·         3+ years of experience providing project oversight and aligning priorities with strategic organizational initiatives.

·         3+ years of experience identifying root causes, evaluating complex issues, and making sound and timely decisions to resolve problems.

·         4+ years of experience demonstrating strong critical thinking, time management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

·         3+ years of experience receiving and incorporating constructive feedback to improve processes, approaches, and outcomes.

·         4+ years of experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a professional environment.

·         Knowledge of data governance principles, data stewardship practices, metadata management, data quality, and data protection.

·         Ability to translate governance policies and requirements into practical procedures, standards, and guidance.

·         Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, requests, and governance activities.

·         Ability to analyze data-related issues, identify contributing factors, and support appropriate remediation.

·         Ability to build trust, maintain professional relationships, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Skills

·         2+ years of experience with data lineage tools, concepts, and methodologies.

·         3+ years of experience understanding the data analysis lifecycle and applying data concepts within a business environment.

·         2+ years of experience building trust, respect, and cooperation among cross-functional teams.

·         Experience supporting enterprise data governance framework implementation or continuous improvement.

·         Experience developing data governance policies, standards, procedures, and operating models.

·         Experience with data catalogs, metadata management, data quality rules, and critical data elements.

·         Experience developing and delivering data literacy, stewardship, or governance training.

·         Experience establishing governance KPIs, data quality metrics, and leadership reporting.

·         Experience supporting data access requests, data-sharing agreements, retention requirements, and data protection practices.
