Mid-Level Desktop Support Consultant


Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico (Onsite)

Position Overview

KēSTA I.T. is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Consultant to provide onsite technical support for a single client location in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for end-user support, ensuring the reliable operation of desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, and Microsoft technologies.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience supporting Windows environments within an enterprise setting. This role requires someone who enjoys solving technical problems while providing an exceptional end-user experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop support for end users at a single client location.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Support Microsoft technologies including Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Office applications.
  • Provision, configure, and deploy new computers and mobile devices.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) where applicable.
  • Install software updates, operating system patches, and security updates.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including VPN, Wi-Fi, and wired network connections.
  • Support printers, scanners, conference room technology, and other end-user equipment.
  • Document support activities, issue resolution, and asset information within the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams as needed.
  • Maintain hardware inventory and assist with asset lifecycle management.
  • Deliver professional, courteous, and timely customer service while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).


Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of desktop support or technical support experience.
  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory user administration.
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware, laptops, printers, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless connectivity.
  • Experience imaging and deploying Windows workstations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a professional demeanor.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or Endpoint Manager.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar ticketing systems.
  • Experience supporting conference room AV technologies.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar technical certifications.
  • Experience working in enterprise or government environments.
