KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for an immediate contract engagement with our client.

  

Job Description:

We Are Seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide on-site technical support to end users within a Microsoft-based environment. This position is responsible for maintaining reliable desktop and laptop operations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting connectivity, and ensuring users receive timely and effective technical assistance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows desktop environments, Active Directory, desktop imaging, end-user support, and mobile device management.

Responsibilities:

·         Provide on-site desktop and laptop support, including hardware and software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

·         Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, application, connectivity, and basic networking issues using structured troubleshooting methods.

·         Provide technical assistance to end users in person, by phone, email, and through remote support tools.

·         Manage helpdesk tickets throughout the full ticket lifecycle, including ticket creation, documentation, updates, resolution, and escalation in accordance with established service levels.

·         Prioritize and manage multiple support requests based on urgency, business impact, and established service-level requirements.

·         Support Windows desktop and laptop environments, including operating system configuration, deployment, imaging, and troubleshooting.

·         Perform Windows desktop and laptop imaging and assist with deployment and replacement activities.

·         Administer and troubleshoot user accounts, permissions, and access within Microsoft Active Directory.

·         Support Microsoft business applications and collaboration tools, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams.

·         Manage and support company-issued mobile phones and related devices through vendor management portals.

·         Ensure desktop systems and end-user devices integrate effectively with enterprise infrastructure, including file servers, email systems, conferencing solutions, and business applications.

·         Collaborate with internal technical teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and service-related issues.

·         Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, system changes, and other support activities accurately within the service management system.

·         Contribute to knowledge base documentation and repeatable troubleshooting procedures.

·         Provide professional, customer-focused support to both technical and non-technical users.

·         Escalate complex or unresolved issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and communication throughout the resolution process.

Required Skills

·         2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Active Directory.

·         2+ years of experience imaging Windows desktops and laptops.

·         2+ years of experience providing customer service and technical assistance to end users.

·         1–2 years of experience managing Verizon or similar cellular devices through a vendor management portal.

·         2+ years of experience working with Windows desktop operating systems.

·         Hands-on experience supporting desktop environments, including computer hardware, operating systems, peripherals, and standard business applications.

·         Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating system, and basic networking issues.

·         Experience working with a ticketing or IT service management platform, such as ServiceNow or a similar system.

·         Experience supporting Microsoft environments, including Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Active Directory.

·         Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to assist both technical and non-technical users.

·         Ability to prioritize competing requests, multitask effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced technical support environment.

·         Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Preferred / Additional Skills

·         Familiarity with basic scripting or automation using PowerShell, Perl, Shell, or similar scripting technologies.

·         Experience working with mobile device management or cellular carrier/vendor administration portals.

·         Experience collaborating with hardware, software, telecommunications, or other technology vendors.

·         Ability to create and maintain technical knowledge base articles and support documentation.
