Senior Product Manager, Payments

Come, Innovate, Build, Disrupt & Thrive!

Position Overview

KēSTA I.T. is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payments to own product strategy, lifecycle, and pricing for a large credit union's product lines and lead the team that supports them.

This role is responsible for managing products from concept through the full product lifecycle, including defining product vision, gathering and prioritizing product and member requirements, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver products that support the organization's growth, yield, and risk management goals. It is a Senior Product Manager role focused on product strategy, not a Product Owner or Scrum Master position.

The work is both business-focused and technical. You will build technical and financial dashboards, create complex pricing and price elasticity models, and serve as the market and technical subject matter expert for your assigned products. The portfolio is a multi-billion-dollar loan portfolio, and data comes from internal sources and third-party partners such as car dealers, banks, and brokers. Data analysis and financial acumen are essential; building data pipelines is not expected.

You will advise senior management and credit union leadership on product value propositions, pricing, and strategy, and supervise Product Managers, Product Analysts II, and Product Analysts I. This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday, in the Roy, Utah area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage products across the full product lifecycle, including defining product vision, gathering and prioritizing product and member requirements, and ensuring product line sustainability.
  • Establish and drive short- and long-term strategic plans and product and revenue-generating strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create and optimize pricing models, including complex pricing models and price elasticity models, to guide pricing decisions for multi-billion-dollar loan portfolios, reflect risk profiles, and apply regional pricing based on market and yield requirements.
  • Lead strategic pricing initiatives to balance member satisfaction, market share, yield, and revenue requirements, and direct Product Managers on optimal pricing models and strategies.
  • Own product innovation activity, including managing pricing, term, collateral, operational behavior, and product attributes, and develop and justify product modifications and improvements.
  • Build and launch products and product features, and drive product and process innovation and automation for scalable, profitable solutions.
  • Create and maintain Market Requirement Documents, Product Requirement Documents, business cases, and product roadmaps, and ensure adherence to them.
  • Maintain product forecasts covering growth, revenue, and expenses for use across business functions, and prepare business cases with careful attention to member impact, including underserved field of membership expansion.
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research, competitor analysis, and SWOT analysis to develop value propositions and advise senior management on competitive positioning.
  • Use SQL, Tableau, and other data engines to produce actionable analysis, and create and maintain technical and financial dashboards and product performance reporting for credit union leadership.
  • Monitor and respond to underwriting guidelines, write-offs, delinquency, and economic conditions to mitigate risk, and advise management on underwriting and lending practice changes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on product risk management, pricing, growth, and yield, and act as project manager to deliver products on time and to requirements.
  • Negotiate third-party contracts and serve as the authoritative source of product information, including definitions, policies, and pricing.
  • Present distilled findings from complex analysis to senior management and advise them on product value propositions, innovation, pricing, and strategy.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train Product Managers, Product Analysts II, and Product Analysts I, including one-on-ones, performance evaluations, scheduling, task and goal assignment, and participation in corrective action; participate in interviewing, selecting, and hiring new team members.

Required Qualifications
