KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a GIS Analyst for an immediate contract engagement with our client.
Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to support complex geographic information systems and applications across web, client/server, mobile, and data platforms. This role will collaborate with application development teams and Project Managers to provide GIS expertise, support project quality and delivery, and develop solutions that streamline spatial data requirements. The GIS Analyst will maintain and enhance existing applications, perform complex spatial analysis, manage spatial databases, and contribute to the development and implementation of GIS solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ArcGIS Online and Portal, spatial data and basemap development, advanced SQL, application testing, and web-based technologies. This position will also evaluate emerging technologies, recommend solutions to technical challenges, support accessibility requirements, and serve as a liaison between technical teams, customers, and external consultants.
Responsibilities:
· Provide GIS expertise, technical guidance, and application development support for complex GIS and spatial-data applications.
· Collaborate with developers, Project Managers, customers, and external consultants to support project quality, milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
· Develop, maintain, modify, and enhance web-based, client/server, mobile, and data-driven GIS applications.
· Develop user interfaces, menus, macro-level commands, dashboards, and other GIS application components based on customer requirements.
· Perform complex spatial analyses and generate reports and other GIS deliverables according to business and customer specifications.
· Design, create, maintain, and leverage geospatial basemap information, including basemaps, tile caches, and imagery-related data.
· Work with ArcGIS Online and Portal to develop and manage GIS solutions, including application builders and dashboards.
· Develop and maintain spatial databases and associated data structures.
· Write and maintain advanced SQL database scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SSIS packages.
· Validate data, maintain and update metadata, document database procedures, and support the integrity and usability of new and existing spatial data.
· Develop and execute unit, system, regression, and automated testing to ensure applications and GIS solutions meet quality and customer expectations.
· Develop and support applications using technologies such as C#, .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL, TypeScript, and Power Apps.
· Develop or approve testing and implementation plans for web, client/server, mobile, and data system applications.
· Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies and recommend solutions to persistent technical and application challenges.
· Support applications across PC-based, web-based, mobile, and legacy platforms as needed.
· Provide customer service and technical liaison support to customers, development teams, Project Managers, and external consultants.
· Support accessibility requirements and apply knowledge of ADA compliance to GIS and application development activities.
· Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and industry practices through continuous learning and professional development.
· Follow established technical, development, testing, security, and implementation standards and practices.
Required Skills
· 4+ years of experience in GIS, cartography, CADD, or a related field.
· 4+ years of experience developing GIS user interfaces, menus, and macro-level commands, performing complex spatial analyses, and producing reports based on customer requirements.
· Strong experience with ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and ArcGIS Portal.
· Experience with ArcGIS Builder and Dashboard capabilities.
· 4+ years of experience developing, maintaining, or leveraging geospatial basemap information.
· Experience creating basemaps, tile caches, and imagery-based GIS solutions.
· 4+ years of advanced SQL experience, including database scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SSIS packages.
· Experience maintaining spatial databases, validating data, documenting procedures, and creating or maintaining metadata.
· 4+ years of advanced software testing experience, including unit testing, system testing, regression testing, and automated testing.
· 2+ years of experience with C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL, and TypeScript.
· Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
· 1+ year of experience or working knowledge of ADA compliance and accessibility requirements.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
· Bachelor’s degree required. Foreign degrees must be evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Skills
· 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO), Git, Microsoft Office, and Helix.
· 1+ year of experience with Angular.
· Experience supporting enterprise GIS, web, mobile, or client/server application environments.
· Experience working across application development, testing, database, and GIS teams.
