Job Description:
We Are Seeking a highly skilled Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer to support, enhance, and maintain a statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination system. This role involves integrating modern technologies with existing platforms, automating core processes, and providing technical leadership across complex, multi-platform environments. The developer will work extensively with Natural, COBOL, and ADABAS in both Linux and Mainframe environments and must be available for on-call support.
Responsibilities:
· Support, maintain, and enhance SNAP/TANF eligibility determination systems and related automated processes.
· Perform enterprise-level programming using Natural and COBOL batch programs with ADABAS databases in Linux environments.
· Troubleshoot complex eligibility systems using Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL.
· Analyze, design, and develop components for large-scale Mainframe and Linux-based systems.
· Provide subject matter expertise on automated eligibility systems including SNAP, TANF, SNAP E&T, Benefits, and Benefit Recovery.
· Recommend improvements and enhancements for systems, workflows, and processes.
· Create, maintain, and update technical and functional documentation, including procedures and policies.
· Interpret, design, and implement federal and state mandates in Linux-based eligibility systems.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with program policies and technical requirements.
· Participate in full SDLC activities and support Agile or hybrid development processes.
· Assist in issue resolution, code analysis, debugging, and performance optimization.
Required Skills:
· Enterprise system programming with Natural and COBOL using ADABAS in Linux environments: 10+ years
· Troubleshooting SNAP/TANF eligibility systems using Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL: 10+ years
· Analysis, design, and development for large/complex IBM Mainframe/Linux systems: 6+ years
· Automated eligibility systems experience (SNAP, TANF, SNAP E&T, Benefits, Benefit Recovery): 6+ years
· System and process enhancement recommendations: 6 years
· Documentation of procedures, policies, and processes: 6 years
· Knowledge of SNAP/TANF eligibility, economic assistance policies, and state/federal mandates: 6 years
· Experience interpreting and implementing mandates in Linux systems: 6 years
