KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a Programmer Analyst for an immediate contract engagement with our client.
Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst to manage, maintain, and enhance enterprise application build, release, configuration management, and version control processes. This role will oversee build automation across multiple environments, implement and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows, and ensure reliable, efficient, and controlled software build and deployment operations.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience administering software configuration and version management processes, deploying build and release tools, troubleshooting complex pipeline issues, and recommending improvements to development workflows. This position will also provide technical guidance to development teams, coordinate with vendors and technical stakeholders, maintain process documentation, and implement automation strategies that improve build performance, release reliability, and developer productivity.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and administer enterprise application build and release processes across development, testing, and higher-level environments.
· Establish, maintain, and enforce source code management standards, including software baselining, versioning, configuration control, auditing, and release management procedures.
· Design, develop, and maintain automated build and deployment workflows to support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and efficient software testing.
· Research, evaluate, and recommend application software and tools that support build automation, configuration management, and version control.
· Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain build automation, configuration management, and version management software.
· Administer source code repositories, branches, release configurations, and development workflows across multiple environments.
· Configure and maintain build and deployment pipelines, including tasks, variables, and environment-specific settings required for controlled software promotion.
· Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to reduce build times, improve reliability, and increase development team productivity.
· Investigate build, configuration, and deployment failures; perform root-cause analysis; and implement preventative measures and long-term corrective actions.
· Analyze technical issues within build and deployment environments, determine appropriate resolution paths, and coordinate external support when necessary.
· Provide technical expertise and recommendations to development teams regarding build automation, configuration management, version control, project administration, and release practices.
· Serve as a technical liaison between internal development teams, vendors, and external technical support resources.
· Assess the performance and stability of systems that rely on build automation, configuration management, and version management tools.
· Develop and maintain process documentation, technical procedures, configuration standards, and build and deployment instructions.
· Administer Azure DevOps or comparable platforms used for source control, build pipelines, releases, and work tracking.
· Create and manage development branches and environment-specific configurations across release and sandbox environments.
· Develop and maintain scripts using languages such as Perl, Shell, or Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
· Track build issues, changes, defects, and work items using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps Boards, or similar platforms.
· Collaborate with project teams to identify process improvements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure build and release activities align with project schedules and requirements.
· Maintain reliable, repeatable, and auditable build and deployment processes across complex application environments.
Required Skills
· 10+ years of experience managing higher-environment build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version management processes.
· 10+ years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products for configuration management, build automation, and version control.
· 10+ years of experience deploying new releases of application build, configuration management, and version management software.
· 10+ years of experience providing technical guidance and recommendations to development teams regarding project administration and project management for applications using build automation, configuration management, and version management tools.
· Extensive knowledge of software configuration management, source code control, software baselining, versioning, and release management practices.
· Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated build and deployment processes.
· Experience with CI/CD concepts, pipeline configuration, automation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
· Experience with configuration management and build automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Jenkins, ClearCase, ClearQuest, and Ant.
· Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
· Experience administering build and release pipelines across multiple environments, including branch management, deployment tasks, and environment-specific variables.
· Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, and Python.
· Experience diagnosing build and deployment failures, conducting root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
· Experience evaluating technical issues, coordinating support resources, and resolving complex configuration and deployment problems.
· Experience documenting build procedures, configuration standards, and release management processes.
· Familiarity with issue tracking and work management platforms such as Jira and Azure DevOps Boards.
· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to provide technical leadership, advise development teams, and coordinate effectively with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.

· Experience working in large-scale government or enterprise technology environments.
· Experience enhancing automated build and deployment processes for complex, mission-critical applications.
· Experience administering Azure DevOps environments, including source control, branch management, build pipelines, release pipelines, and deployment configurations.
· Experience maintaining build and deployment processes across multiple application environments with varying access and support requirements.
· Experience improving CI/CD workflows, increasing deployment reliability, and reducing manual build and release activities.
