KēSTA I.T. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer skilled in Java.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team responsible for identifying, monitoring, and managing financial and non-financial risks across the Company. Operating in a fast-paced environment, our risk management team applies cutting-edge analytical tools to assess and mitigate risks while ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall risk strategy.

The Team’s Mission:

Our team builds, maintains, and enhances scalable platforms that compute complex risk metrics with precision and speed. We leverage a combination of computer science, mathematics, and finance to create high-performance solutions for managing market, credit, and operational risk. Collaborating closely with business partners, our engineers design and develop platforms and analytical tools to drive strategic risk management initiatives.

What You Will Do:

• Lead development efforts on large-scale projects, collaborating with a global team of engineers and risk specialists.
• Optimize system performance by enhancing memory usage and CPU efficiency.
• Develop internal and external reporting solutions for risk calculations, using SQL and visualization tools.
• Design and implement web applications that provide real-time insights for risk monitoring and decision-making.
• Work with databases such as Snowflake, Sybase IQ, and distributed storage systems to support risk analytics.
• Partner with business users to troubleshoot application issues and enhance system reliability.
• Develop and maintain batch processing systems for data computations and distribution across various platforms.
• Guide junior engineers through all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, code review, and deployment.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 6-9 years of experience in risk technology within a financial institution or related industry.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Python, with hands-on experience in Spring Framework, Linux, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with database technologies, including Snowflake and Sybase IQ, as well as distributed computing architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based development, particularly AWS-based solutions.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience overseeing end-to-end project execution.
• Understanding of performance metrics such as SLOs/SLIs to ensure system efficiency and scalability.
