Position Overview

KēSTA I.T. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support an application development and support team that maintains multiple web applications for agencies. This role serves as the key liaison between the technical team and business partners.

The position covers two areas of work: supporting ongoing maintenance activities for existing applications, and contributing to several larger projects, with a main focus on one agency's initiatives. Day to day, you will manage incoming work requests that support operational needs for web applications and gather requirements for new project initiatives.

You will work with the development team, a business product owner, business partners, management, and vendors. As a senior member of the team, you are expected to lead meetings and requirement sessions independently and to apply strong leadership skills, including delegation and clear communication. Success in this role means keeping business and technical teams aligned, documented, and following the department's change management policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate meetings between the technical team and business clients

• Lead requirement sessions independently to gather requirements and project specifications

• Manage work requests that support operational needs for web applications

• Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication between the business product owner and the development team within the Change Management lifecycle

• Support maintenance activities for existing applications as well as multiple larger projects

• Maintain the backlog of work items and track sprints and ticket progress in Azure DevOps

• Provide management with project status reports and resource demand projections

• Help ensure the team adheres to department change management policies

• Maintain project documentation on the project SharePoint site

• Work with vendors and other stakeholders

• Gather requirements for complex new applications in support of RFPs

• Serve as the liaison between the technical team and business partners, applying delegation and effective communication

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of exposure to complex IT web applications within the past 5 years

• 3+ years of experience working as a liaison between the development team and a project manager or business client on a software development project

• 3+ years of experience as a business analyst supporting a software development project within the past 5 years

• 3+ years of experience leading meetings, conducting training and information sessions, communicating at a level appropriate to the audience, and delivering oral and written reports and presentations

• 1+ years of experience with Azure DevOps

• Strong leadership skills, including delegation, effective communication, and effective requirements gathering

• Ability to lead meetings with stakeholders and other technical resources

• Detail oriented with strong critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (2+ years)

• Project management skills and knowledge of project management and related methodologies (6+ months)

• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint (2+ years)

• Experience with Salesforce Platform (6+ months)

• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 (6+ months)
