Job Description:
We Are Seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to lead the development and evaluation of advanced analytics solutions using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning technologies. This role will focus on building and testing statistical models, developing proof-of-concept solutions, and evaluating how emerging technologies can improve complex business processes. The Data Scientist will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are statistically sound, transparent, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Data Science Strategy and Development
· Develop a structured framework for executing technical tasks, including milestones, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
· Lead the design, development, and testing of statistical models and machine learning solutions.
· Integrate natural language processing techniques into analytical models and prototype solutions.
· Evaluate algorithmic approaches and recommend optimal solutions based on performance, scalability, and accuracy.
· Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities through data analysis.
· Document methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
Technical Analysis and Solution Design
· Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve decision-making through data science solutions.
· Design new approaches leveraging machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.
· Evaluate architectural, computational, and data-related trade-offs.
· Assess data sources for quality, usability, and effectiveness in achieving project objectives.
· Support design reviews by evaluating technical approaches, risks, and testing strategies.
· Ensure data security and compliance considerations are incorporated into solution design.
Project Implementation and Collaboration
· Oversee implementation of proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes.
· Provide technical guidance to development teams and remove technical roadblocks.
· Facilitate design reviews and technical discussions with stakeholders.
· Support Agile development processes and participate in project status activities.
· Present solution demonstrations and gather stakeholder feedback.
· Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps for future integration and scalability.
· Maintain clear documentation of processes, models, and results.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data science methodologies.
· Experience developing machine learning models from concept through implementation.
· Strong data engineering experience including development of high-volume data processing solutions.
· Experience working with large and complex datasets and performing data preparation and feature engineering.
· Experience evaluating algorithm performance and making trade-off decisions based on model accuracy, scalability, and performance.
· Experience documenting technical solutions and communicating complex concepts to stakeholders.
· Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience working with child welfare, case management, or similar human services data environments.
· Experience working with complex regulatory or compliance-driven data environments.
· Experience developing predictive models related to human services or social outcomes.
· Experience building decision-support systems using non-rule-based approaches.
· Experience translating human decision-making processes into computational models.
· Experience supporting large-scale data science initiatives in highly regulated environments.
· Experience with data visualization and technical demonstrations.
· Experience supporting stakeholder presentations and technical solution demonstrations.
