General Manager – Commercial Cleaning Operations

Sonshine Cleaning is a locally owned commercial cleaning and facility services company serving offices, medical facilities, universities, recreation centers, and multi-tenant buildings across the Dayton region. With roughly 140 employees and continued growth, this role is a key leadership position responsible for stabilizing operations, supporting growth, and developing a strong management team.

About the Role

The General Manager leads day-to-day operations to ensure client commitments are met while maintaining profitability and efficiency. You’ll partner closely with ownership and operations managers to monitor performance, solve problems in real time, and build a high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes both office and field time, supporting teams across multiple customer sites.

This position is primarily second shift, typically between 12–8pm or 2–10pm, to align with when most teams are working.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily operations across multiple commercial accounts
• Coach and develop Operations Managers and reinforce accountability and culture
• Monitor labor, supply spend, and account performance metrics
• Address customer issues, safety concerns, and personnel matters quickly
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, staffing, and performance visibility
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and team check-ins across locations

What We’re Looking For

• Five+ years of leadership or operations management experience
• Experience leading teams in a service-based environment
• Strong coaching, conflict management, and decision-making skills
• Ability to analyze data and adjust operations accordingly
• Organized, proactive, and steady under pressure
• Business or management degree preferred
