We are a family-owned company that designs and builds custom work holding for round parts or parts machined in rotating machine tools (lathes, gear cutting machines, OD, ID grinders, etc.). This is a high-mix, low-volume shop.

About the Role:

The Operations & Shipping Support Technician plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports shipping/receiving, heat treat coordination, light maintenance, and limited production tasks. It’s ideal for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting daily priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily shipping and receiving using UPS/FedEx systems
• Prepare heavy parts for shipment (boxing, labeling, documentation)
• Coordinate daily heat treat processing, paperwork, and vendor pickups
• Support maintenance activities (HVAC filter changes, fuses, cleaning coolant tanks, general mechanical tasks)
• Assist with forklift operation (training/certification provided)
• Perform light production work: deburring, cleaning, inspecting, polishing parts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Shift priorities throughout the day to meet shipping and production deadlines

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs (cranes/lifts available for heavier loads)
• Basic computer skills (Windows; UPS/FedEx systems a plus)
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Reliability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities

Preferred:

• Experience changing fuses or basic electrical tasks
• Comfortable working at heights (scissor lift used for roof work)
• Experience with band saw operation or welding saw blades
• Hobbies indicating mechanical or detail-oriented strengths (cars, music, etc.)
