Our client is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Professional Liability Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional claims service to insureds. What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex medical malpractice claims from start to resolution, ensuring each case is managed in alignment with the company’s claims philosophy and best practices. You’ll also serve as a go-to resource for colleagues, contributing your knowledge to strengthen the team as a whole.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with insureds, claimants, witnesses, experts, and other key parties to gather and verify facts.
- Actively participating in interviews, depositions, mediations, and pretrial proceedings.
- Partnering with defense counsel to develop and execute effective defense strategies.
- Evaluating liability and damages, establishing injury estimates, and securing settlement authority through the Peer Review Committee process.
- Keeping claims files current with accurate documentation, updates, and activity notes.
- Providing timely and thorough loss advices to keep reinsurers informed.
- Reviewing and approving legal and expense invoices.
- Maintaining accurate data fields within the claims system.
- Assisting the Claims Manager with training and mentoring team members.
- Conducting file reviews and stepping in on managerial tasks as needed.
- Delivering exceptional service in all aspects of claims handling.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with claims handling.
- Strong knowledge of legal processes, discovery rules, and tort system recovery theories.
- Familiarity with insurance coverage issues.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, service-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to work on-site in the Chicago office.
