JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst supports enterprise financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and systems optimization. This role serves as a bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring accurate, efficient, and strategic use of financial systems and data to drive decision-making.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead the development and enhancement of financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses –
· Manage budgeting processes, variance analysis, and monthly/quarterly reporting
· Serve as subject matter expert on financial systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Quickbase, Power BI, or equivalent tools
· Partner with IT and finance teams to identify and implement financial system improvements
· Ensure data integrity, standardization, and system compliance across financial platforms
· Support capital project analysis, resource planning, and performance dashboards
· Drive financial transformation initiatives, including automation and process optimization
· Train and support end users on financial reporting tools and system workflows
· Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards for executive and operational leadership
· Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into financial system configurations
Required Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, or a related field
· 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial systems, or a related analytical role
· Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
· Proven experience building and maintaining financial models and dashboards
· Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
· Strong knowledge of GASB, budgeting principles, and capital vs. operating expense classifications
· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage deadlines
· Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
· Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or MIS
· Experience working in public sector or enterprise fund environments
· Familiarity with project portfolio management (PPM) tools
· Experience with financial system implementations, upgrades, or transformations
· Knowledge of data governance and system integration best practices
