JOB SUMMARY
Company Overview: A private financial services firm specializing in wealth management for institutions and high-net-worth clients, managing over $5 billion in assets. With a 30+ year history, the firm is known for its client-focused approach and strong regulatory compliance.
Position Summary: The IT Lead will oversee the company’s IT operations, ensuring reliable performance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. This role is a "jack of all trades" position, ideal for a hands-on leader comfortable managing both strategic IT initiatives and daily technical tasks. The IT Lead will work closely with external vendors while aiming to internalize more IT functions over time.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage in-house servers, network infrastructure, and the firm’s rack room, ensuring smooth IT operations and business continuity, especially during emergencies (e.g., hurricanes).
· Manage daily data ingestion from third-party custodian banks into the internal system for portfolio performance and client reporting.
· Handle all IT tasks, including network administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving daily issues (e.g., password resets, licensing, equipment inventory).
· Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL processes, ensuring accurate data migration and regulatory compliance
· Lead and document cybersecurity initiatives, including secure data handling, disaster recovery planning, and maintaining the firm’s security posture.
· Collaborate with external service partners while progressively reducing external dependencies.
· Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, including cloud-based options, to enhance operational efficiency and security.
· Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for IT processes, system configurations, and operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and scripting for IT automation and data management/migrations.
· Strong networking skills, particularly with Cisco/Meraki systems.
· Expertise with Microsoft servers, Office 365, and database management (ETL operations).
· Experience with cloud storage solutions
· Experience with external vendor management
· Proven experience leading IT operations in a smaller, hands-on environment.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with financial data management systems or tools a plus
· Solid understanding of regulatory compliance (SEC, FINRA) and data security best practices.
· Spanish language skills (a plus, but not required).
Work Environment:
· On-site role with standard hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) and on-call support for emergencies.
· Close-knit, collaborative team with a focus on proactive client service.
· Direct interaction with firm owners, with an expectation of high reliability and integrity.
· The role will continue as a “team of one” for IT management, making self-sufficiency and initiative critical.
