JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking an experienced Power Platform, SharePoint & Data Solutions Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise-grade applications, automation, analytics, and data solutions.
This is a senior, hands-on position requiring strong expertise across the Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate), Power BI, SharePoint, SQL Server/Azure SQL,
and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations integrations.
The individual will serve as a peer within the technical team and will have the opportunity to take increasing ownership of the organization’s Power Platform and data environment over time. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical capabilities with an understanding of enterprise governance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Development & Automation
· Design and develop Power Apps solutions, including Canvas and Model-Driven applications.
· Build workflows and user interfaces following UX/UI best practices.
· Build and maintain Power Automate workflows to automate business processes.
· Develop and manage custom connectors integrating third-party APIs with Power Apps.
· Develop scalable, reusable components aligned with enterprise standards.
· Design delegation-aware solutions that perform reliably against large data sources, including Dynamics 365 F&O, Dataverse, and SQL.
Data Analytics & Visualization
· Design and deliver Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and executive audiences.
· Build and optimize data models, datasets, DAX calculations, row-level security (RLS), and data transformations.
· Integrate Power BI with SQL, SharePoint, Dataverse, and other enterprise data sources.
· Implement data refresh strategies, performance tuning, and governance controls.
· Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable reporting and insights.
SharePoint
· Architect and manage SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server environments.
· Design document management solutions, metadata structures, and permission models.
· Lead migrations from on-premises SharePoint to Microsoft 365.
· Integrate SharePoint with Power Platform and reporting solutions.
· Integrate Dataverse data with SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server.
Data, Integration & Platform Operations
· Design and maintain SQL Server databases in both on-premises and Azure SQL environments.
· Develop stored procedures and views and optimize query performance.
· Manage production database operations, including backup/restore, disaster recovery, capacity and storage management, monitoring, indexing, and maintenance jobs.
· Integrate solutions with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations using data entities/OData, dual-write, and virtual tables.
· Build and maintain data warehouse and ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
· Apply sound dimensional data modeling practices.
· Install, configure, and manage on-premises data gateways supporting hybrid connectivity.
· Enable system integrations using APIs, connectors, and middleware.
Governance & Security
· Implement Power Platform and Power BI governance, including DLP, workspace strategy, and environment controls.
· Manage data security, role-based access, and compliance requirements.
· Manage identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID, including service principals, service accounts, and conditional access.
· Manage Power Platform and Power BI licensing, capacity, and cost optimization.
· Apply application lifecycle management (ALM) best practices, including managed/unmanaged solutions, environment strategy, and deployment pipelines.
· Support Dev/Test/Prod environment lifecycles and deployments.
Support, Optimization & Leadership
· Troubleshoot issues across Power Platform, SharePoint, SQL, and Power BI environments.
· Monitor performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Produce technical documentation and support end-user adoption.
· Mentor junior makers and citizen developers on development standards and best practices.
· Contribute to and help lead the Power Platform Center of Excellence and governance model.
· Assume increasing ownership of the environment roadmap, technical standards, and platform strategy as the position evolves.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· 5+ years of experience working with:
o Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
o Power BI, including data modeling, reporting, and DAX.
o SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server.
o SQL Server, including on-premises and Azure SQL environments.
o Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations integrations using data entities, OData, dual-write, and/or virtual tables.
o Production database administration, including backup/restore, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
· Strong understanding of:
o Data modeling and analytics.
o Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
o REST APIs and system integrations.
o Hybrid connectivity and on-premises data gateways.
o Microsoft Entra ID identity and access management.
· Strong analytical mindset with an emphasis on data-driven outcomes.
· Ability to bridge business requirements, applications, data, and analytics.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both executive and technical audiences.
· Demonstrated focus on scalability, governance, reliability, and maintainability.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with enterprise Power BI deployments, including workspace architecture, data governance, and semantic models.
· Experience with Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, Functions, and Logic Apps.
· Experience with data warehousing and ETL/ELT, including Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dimensional modeling, and Microsoft Fabric.
· Experience migrating SharePoint from on-premises environments to the cloud.
· Experience with Copilot Studio and AI Builder.
· Knowledge of Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) practices.
· Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices for Power Platform and Power BI, including solution-based ALM and deployment pipelines.
· Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus, including:
o Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
o Power Platform Developer (PL-400)
o Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL-200)
o Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600)
o Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
