JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) provides executive-level leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight for all I&E operations across Company’s facilities, compression, and midstream infrastructure projects. This role is accountable for the business unit’s financial health, operational excellence, safety performance, and long-term growth strategy. The Director is both a business and technical leader—capable of managing P&L, developing emerging leaders, driving new service lines, and ensuring best-in-class execution in automation, controls, and electrical systems within complex oil and gas environments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for Company’s I&E division, aligning with corporate objectives and operational growth targets.
• Oversee multiple I&E project portfolios across regions—ensuring alignment of safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Lead annual and quarterly business reviews, forecasting, and margin performance analysis in collaboration with executive leadership.
• Technical & Engineering Oversight
• Provide high-level technical guidance for I&E design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for compression stations, facilities, and field automation.
• Approve and oversee complex system designs (e.g., SCADA integration, PLC programming architecture, instrumentation selection, and power distribution).
• Evaluate and approve control and electrical engineering standards, ensuring consistency across all projects.
• Serve as technical authority for compliance with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards, including hazardous area classification and instrumentation safety systems (SIS).
Business Development & Client Management
• Partner with Business Development to expand Company’s presence in the facilities, midstream, and compression markets by identifying and securing strategic contracts.
• Support preconstruction teams with technical expertise in estimating, proposals, and bid strategies.
• Build and sustain relationships with key clients, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business through performance excellence and technical credibility.
Talent & Organizational Development
• Build and scale a high-performing I&E organization—mentoring managers, project engineers, and field supervisors.
• Oversee workforce planning, training, and succession development to sustain technical expertise across the business unit.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Safety, Compliance, and Quality
• Enforce company safety standards and regulatory compliance across all projects and field operations.
• Oversee implementation of advanced electrical testing, commissioning, and QA/QC practices.
• Promote a proactive approach to incident prevention, emphasizing process safety and risk management.
Market & Technical Expertise
• Deep understanding of I&E applications within midstream infrastructure: compressor stations, pump stations, metering facilities, and production facilities.
• Experience integrating power and control systems for mechanical equipment including MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and VFDs.
• Skilled in interpreting and developing P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control narratives for facility automation.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in industrial controls, cybersecurity in SCADA systems, and IoT-based condition monitoring.
