Litigation Paralegal
Serious injury cases turn on preparation, timing, and the record you build before anyone walks into a courtroom. This role puts you at the center of high-stakes plaintiff litigation—catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and insurance bad faith—where a clean file, a complete discovery record, and a trial-ready exhibit set can change what a client recovers. You will not wait for work to arrive. You will drive cases forward.
Performance Objectives
- Open, organize, and advance assigned matters so every deadline, medical record, and liability document is current, indexed, and attorney-ready.
- Draft and serve discovery, responses, subpoenas, and routine motions that withstand opposing counsel review and reduce attorney rewrite time.
- Build damages packages—medical chronologies, lien summaries, lost-wage support, and exhibit lists—that let counsel value and try the case with confidence.
- Manage expert, provider, and witness coordination so depositions, independent medical exams, and trial appearances happen on schedule.
- Track statutes, court rules, and insurance-carrier deadlines with zero missed dates across an active docket.
- Prepare trial notebooks, witness binders, and demonstrative support that attorneys can use in mediation, arbitration, or trial without last-minute reconstruction.
- Keep clients informed of next steps and document status so attorneys spend hearing and negotiation time on strategy, not file recovery.
Environment & Resources
You will work directly with litigating attorneys and a small support team in an Atlanta plaintiff practice focused on serious injury and insurance disputes. Expect a case-management system, e-filing access, medical-record vendors, and a defined docket you own—not a shared inbox. Reporting is to the supervising litigation attorney. Tools and vendor spend are available for records, transcripts, and trial preparation when they move a case.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven litigation paralegal experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance coverage disputes, including discovery through resolution or trial.
- Working command of Georgia civil procedure, local court rules, and plaintiff-side deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to draft discovery, chronologies, and motion support that attorneys file with limited revision.
- Facility with case-management and e-filing systems, medical-record organization, and exhibit control.
- Judgment to flag privilege, deadline, and damages issues before they become problems.
- Clear written communication with clients, providers, experts, and opposing counsel.
