Rainier Recruiting is partnering with a large international aerospace manufacturer who is seeking a senior business development professional. The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving company growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the aerospace sector. This individual will focus on developing and executing sales strategies to enter new market segments and build long-term strategic partnerships. The role involves engaging with senior-level stakeholders, managing internal resources, and guiding the development of proposals and product offerings to meet customer needs. This position also contributes to the broader strategic planning and sales growth initiatives within the Americas region. Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual salary $170,000- $225,000 plus bonus and commission (negotiable).

Location: Hybrid. Anywhere in Puget Sound, WA. This position is in office only occasionally with the majority of time spent in the field and meeting with customers nationally.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the aerospace industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers, including senior-level decision-makers.
  • Develop comprehensive market and territory plans based on competitive research and market analysis.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, ensuring alignment of product offerings with client expectations.
  • Collaborate in the creation and execution of commercial proposals and bids.
  • Participate in negotiations to secure profitable contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Develop market entry strategies and product positioning plans in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to customers, trade show audiences, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular forecasting, market feedback, and performance insights to support continuous growth.
  • Maintain a high level of autonomy and demonstrate strong independent judgment in decision-making.
  • Represent the organization at key industry events and conferences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in aerospace industry sales, with knowledge of OEM customer expectations and procurement cycles.
  • Proven ability to open new markets, reposition existing products, and add value through strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and negotiating complex agreements.
  • Skilled in interpreting sales data and market trends to drive strategy.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of aerospace products and services.
  • Previous involvement in the development and presentation of bids and proposals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in direct sales to aerospace OEMs or top-tier manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
