Location: Seattle, WA or Providence, RI. This position is onsite 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop shipboard electrical power systems in accordance with applicable codes, classification society rules, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct power system analyses including short circuit studies and coordination of protective devices.
- Perform lighting system calculations and develop supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review technical documents including load analysis, single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, specifications, and materials for cost estimation and regulatory submittals.
- Lead engineering tasks within projects, manage budgets and timelines, assign responsibilities, and support proposal development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems within the vessel design.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and practices within marine electrical engineering.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant electrical design experience in a maritime, industrial, or large-scale microgrid environment. Marine or consulting experience is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, marine engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain licensure within one year of hire is expected.
- Familiarity with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Rhino3D, or SolidWorks, and standard office software tools.
- Hands-on experience with electrical system analysis software (e.g., SKM preferred, EDSA, eTAP, or EasyPower).
- Strong communication skills, technical writing ability, collaborative mindset, and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or be eligible for a TN visa.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork, client meetings, or site visits. A valid driver’s license, passport, or TWIC card may be required for certain assignments.
