Location: Seattle, WA or Providence, RI. This position is onsite 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical efforts on a range of projects, including ship design, marine civil structures, offshore renewable energy systems, floating platforms, and marine construction support.
  • Conduct environmental and hydrodynamic analysis for floating structures, including mooring system design, motion response studies, hydro-elastic modeling, and numerical simulations using FEA, CFD, and potential flow methods.
  • Perform advanced data analysis using probabilistic approaches, system optimization, and large dataset synthesis to support fleet planning, risk assessments, and model development.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements, tool development, and knowledge sharing within the group.
  • Mentor junior engineers and actively support client engagement and relationship management.

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering, naval architecture, or a closely related field; advanced degrees (MS/PhD) are preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in the U.S. or the ability to obtain one within a year of hire is strongly preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Applicants must have unrestricted work authorization or qualify for a TN visa.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in ocean engineering or related fields such as hydrodynamics, offshore operations, mooring analysis, or ship/platform design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in core engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with global performance modeling of vessels or offshore structures.
  • Experience in project management, including client interaction, team leadership, and oversight of budgets and schedules.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Rhino, WAMIT, OrcaFlex, Python, SWAN, SMP, and Microsoft Office.
  • Exposure to fieldwork, model testing, and validation of simulation tools.
  • Working knowledge of maritime standards and regulations (e.g., USCG, ABS, DNV, API).

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel for site visits or fieldwork, as needed.
  • Some projects may require a valid driver’s license, passport, or TWIC card.
