Rainier Recruiting is partnering with a large international engineering software company who is seeking Regional a Sales Manager to lead USA sales operations, which is responsible for selling the company’s engineering/manufacturing design software and services within North America. Location: Hybrid in the greater Chicago, IL region. This position is in office 2-3 days per week with the majority of time spent in the field and meeting with customers nationally.


Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives for the USA/Canadian territories. Responsibilities include maximizing revenues through the acquisition of new accounts and the development of the existing customer base. The ideal candidate is a tenacious self-starter who is able to hit the ground running, managing multiple existing accounts and new business activities. 

This is a professional sales role that would suit a proven Sales Professional who is an exceptional closer with a successful track record of achieving sales targets; who is able to understand and manage complex sales cycles in order to develop and sell a compelling high value proposition. If you have a consultative sales background in the engineering software or engineering consultancy space and are looking for a new opportunity, we would like to hear from you.


Essential Functions

  • Maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
  • Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams.
  • Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company's products and consultancy services.
  • Coordinates appropriate and efficient use company resources required to support existing customers and ongoing business development activities.
  • Consistent delivery of new account sales.
  • Management, retention, and growth of existing customer base
  • Sales of emerging products/services.
  • Pro-active in the development of competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns.
  • Management of sales department expenses.
  • Manage all business/financial issues on contracts.
  • Approximately 35% travel required, some overnight.


Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management.
  • 5 years of sales experience
  • Highest level of knowledge of company's products/services, pricing practices, and selling skills.
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Excellent PC knowledge and various software applications.
  • Heavy telephone usage.
  • Travel approximately 35% when necessary (not required)
