CMM Operator / Quality Engineer

Location: Auburn, WA (Onsite Only)

Schedule: Approximately 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with some flexibility

Pay: $40–$48/hr DOE (confidential)

Overview

A manufacturing operation specializing in precision-machined aerospace components is seeking a skilled CMM Operator / Quality Engineer to support measurement validation for new and existing production. This role blends hands-on operation, programming, troubleshooting, and light quality engineering work. You’ll work closely with a small on-site team and a supportive Quality Manager in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Program and operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to verify dimensional accuracy on complex metal components
  • Use engineering drawings, models, and GD&T to perform detailed inspections
  • Support measurement validation for new product introductions and engineering projects
  • Complete AS9102 First Article Inspections
  • Troubleshoot measurement issues and assist in process planning for inspection workflows
  • Create or update work instructions, procedures, and documentation as needed
  • Assist with internal audits and support compliance with AS9100D
  • Collaborate closely with quality and manufacturing teams
  • Perform additional related tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience operating and programming a CMM
  • Background as a CMM operator, quality engineer, quality technician, or similar role
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
  • Familiarity with AS9100D and internal audit processes
  • 4+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working some overtime as needed
  • U.S. citizenship required

Work Environment

  • Onsite role in a precision machining facility producing parts for aerospace and related sectors
  • Mix of mills, lathes, and 3/4/5-axis equipment across a medium-sized operation
  • Team-oriented culture with an easy-going Quality Manager
  • Approximately 80 employees, with a small office/support team
  • Parts range approximately 12–18 inches, covering around 150 active part numbers
