Location: 100% onsite in Redmond, WA.
Position Summary:
The Service Technician provides hands-on support to the Product Evaluation Lab (PEL), ensuring that returned equipment is properly processed, evaluated, and refurbished for future use. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and functionality of products used in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unpack and disinfect medical equipment and accessories using approved medical-grade cleaning agents
- Verify returned products against RMAs and receive them into inventory systems
- Assess product functionality in relation to reported issues, document findings, and resolve or escalate as needed
- Troubleshoot device and component problems to identify root causes, collaborating with engineering teams when necessary
- Follow established procedures for evaluating, servicing, refurbishing, and updating electronic devices
- Draft or update work instructions and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure alignment with current practices
- Install or update software on devices to support refurbishment efforts
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Inventory teams to fulfill service part and refurbished product orders
- Support Quality Assurance efforts through data collection, reporting, and presentation
- Maintain accurate service inventory by executing necessary inventory transactions
- Keep all work areas clean, safe, and well-organized
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a service and light manufacturing environment with moderate noise, controlled temperatures, and regular movement or handling of materials.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school background preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics assembly, repair, or service environments
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with electronics or medical device maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing electronic equipment issues
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to document findings clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Google Workspace applications
- Experience with ERP systems (such as Oracle NetSuite) is a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities with accuracy
- Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to FDA and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work safely in an active environment
- Dependable, punctual, and collaborative with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
