About the Opportunity

A respected community‑based hospital in Ohio is seeking a proven Director of Surgical Services to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the perioperative continuum. This leader will oversee Surgery, Ambulatory Surgery, and PACU services, ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a culture of accountability.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, data‑driven nursing leader with experience improving quality, strengthening team engagement, and supporting organizational performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all perioperative operations, including OR, Ambulatory Surgery, and PACU
• Direct and mentor clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient, patient‑centered surgical care
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing executives, and leadership to align clinical best practices and policies
• Lead departmental performance improvement (PI) initiatives and participate in hospital‑wide quality programs
• Develop, manage, and monitor the departmental operating budget
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
• Foster a work environment rooted in teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Ohio RN license
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) – current and maintained
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience
• Minimum 2 years of surgical nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR certification
• PALS (AHA) certification
• Previous leadership experience in a multi‑service perioperative environment
