Survey Project Manager

As a Survey Project Manager in our client's Greenville, SC office, you’ll support and lead a variety of surveying projects while working closely with a Licensed Surveyor and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll manage project workflows, including crew scheduling, daily assignments, and the development of deed work maps and base maps. You’ll apply your expertise in ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic mapping, construction layout, and GPS surveying to deliver high-quality results. You’ll primarily work in the office, with occasional field involvement, contributing to the successful execution of survey projects and integrated client solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage survey projects, including scheduling field crews, coordinating daily assignments, and overseeing project deliverables
  • Prepare and review deed research, boundary analysis, base maps, and survey documentation
  • Provide technical oversight, including quality assurance/quality control of survey procedures and final work products
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to the growth of survey services through client engagement and internal collaboration
  • Collaborate with other company practices to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary project solutions
  • Mentor and train survey staff, supporting professional development and assisting with recruiting efforts
  • Promote and maintain safety standards and consistent procedures across field and office survey operations


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of surveying experience
  • Professional Surveyor (P.S.) license preferred
  • Knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, practices, and technological advances
  • Experience managing survey projects, including preparing proposals, tracking budgets, and reviewing billing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and client interactions
  • Experience mentoring and providing guidance to survey staff
  • Experience supporting growth of a survey practice through marketing, networking, and client engagement


Preferred Capabilities:

  • Proven success leading survey crews and complex field projects
  • Experience with advanced survey equipment, including GPS receivers and robotic total stations
  • Established professional network in the surveying, engineering, or development communities
  • Experience contributing to business development and strategic practice expansion
