Business Development Representative - Aerial Mapping Services
United States
Apply for this job

GeoSearch is actively looking for a hands-on Business Development Representative who will have ownership of client relationships from initial opportunity through successful project delivery and repeat business. The successful candidate will identify and develop new accounts, understand client requirements, help define the appropriate geospatial solution, and work closely with internal operations and acquisition partners to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

You will be joining a company with a proven service offering, strong customer retention, an established reputation and a clearly defined target market. The primary objective is straightforward: develop new client relationships and turn them into recurring, long-term accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage a multimillion-dollar book of commercial geospatial business
  • Identify, pursue and open new accounts, with an emphasis on civil engineering and land surveying firms that regularly require aerial mapping, LiDAR and related geospatial services
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers at targeted firms and convert new accounts into recurring customers
  • Develop MSAs and preferred-provider relationships with civil engineering, surveying and infrastructure firms
  • Understand client project requirements and work with the technical team to define appropriate acquisition methods, specifications, deliverables, schedules and pricing
  • Coordinate with internal operations and acquisition partners to ensure projects are executed successfully
  • Remain the client's primary relationship owner and point of accountability throughout the engagement
  • Identify additional opportunities within existing accounts and expand relationships across offices, business units and geographies
  • Expand the company's presence in land development, utilities, energy and renewable-energy markets
  • Develop a territory through direct prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, conferences and professional networks

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated success developing and managing a multimillion-dollar book of business in geospatial, surveying, engineering or related professional services
  • Strong knowledge of aerial imagery, LiDAR, surveying, reality capture or related geospatial products and services
  • The technical understanding necessary to discuss project requirements credibly with surveyors, engineers and other technical clients
  • Established relationships within civil engineering, land surveying, utilities, land development, energy or related infrastructure markets
  • A proven ability to develop new accounts rather than simply manage an inherited customer base
  • The ability to move comfortably between business development, technical scoping and client relationship management
  • Strong communication, organization and follow-through
  • The ability to work independently and build a territory through relationships, targeted prospecting and industry knowledge rather than relying on an established lead list

Location: Remote

Territory: Continental United States, focused on developing new customers outside the Company's existing client base

Travel: Travel as necessary for industry conferences, client meetings, prospect visits and other business-development activities

What Success Looks Like

  • The initial objective is to generate $1 million or more in new contracted business during the first year, while establishing a pipeline and client relationships capable of producing continued growth in subsequent years.
  • Success means identifying and opening strategic new accounts, converting those accounts into repeat customers, and steadily building a meaningful recurring book of business.
  • The strongest candidate will combine the relationship skills of a business development professional with enough technical knowledge to understand how high-accuracy geospatial projects are specified, acquired and delivered.

What This Role Is Not

This is not a government capture, procurement or proposal-response position. It is a commercial, relationship-driven business development role focused on directly developing civil engineering, surveying and infrastructure customers and building long-term recurring business.
