About the Company
Our client is a leading provider of ABA therapy and related services, recognized for a clinical gold standard approach across clinic and school-based settings. As they enter their next phase of growth, they are seeking a rare operator-builder to help expand their reach — deepening presence in the school district market, standing up new service lines, and building business models that extend beyond their core offerings.
The Opportunity
This role is designed for someone who has built and closed significant books of business and/or has a track record of standing up new service lines and staffing models in healthcare or education services. The right candidate may come from a pure business development background, a service line expansion background, or both.
What matters most is that you’ve operated at the intersection of growth and execution. You know how to win new business with institutional buyers like school districts, and/or you’ve taken a new service offering from concept to launch and scaled it.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with strong ownership group support and a clear mandate to grow.
What You’ll Own
School District Business Development
- Build and close a meaningful book of business with school districts, with a focus on multi-year contracts
- Develop and manage relationships with district administrators, special education directors, and procurement stakeholders
- Identify and pursue district opportunities beyond the current geographic footprint
- Work cross-functionally with clinical and operations teams to ensure seamless contract fulfillment
Service Line Expansion & New Model Development
- Identify and prioritize new service line opportunities, which may include a compliance-first, lower-cost staffing models for districts or a pure staffing services business (percentage-of-billable model)
- Build business cases: market sizing, competitor analysis, pricing/margin structure, and operational requirements
- Design and run pilots — define scope, success metrics, and timelines; decide to kill, pivot, or scale based on data
- Create scalable operating playbooks for winning models; hand off mature lines to operational leaders once stable
Launch & Operational Execution
- Manage the internal complexity of getting new business and new service lines off the ground
- Coordinate across clinical, ops, HR, and finance to move from signed contract or approved pilot to live delivery
- Serve as the connective tissue between business development and operational execution in the early stages of each new initiative
What We’re Looking For
There are a few different backgrounds that could make someone exceptional in this role. Strong candidates may have one or more of the following:

District BD experience: A proven track record closing large, multi-year contracts with school districts or similar institutional buyers in healthcare or education services

Staffing model experience: Experience building or scaling a staffing services business — particularly in healthcare, education, or behavioral health — including pricing, margin management, and operational stand-up

Service line expansion experience: A history of taking new clinical or education service offerings from business case through pilot to scale, with direct operating ownership (not just advisory)
