About the Company


Our client is a well-established consulting and technology partner serving manufacturers across North America. With a 40+ year track record in operational transformation and cloud-based ERP modernization, they support mid-market and enterprise manufacturers in streamlining processes, upgrading legacy systems, and unlocking long-term operational gains.


They are now seeking an Account Director to drive both expansion within existing strategic accounts and net-new business development across the manufacturing sector.


Role Overview


The Account Director will report to the VP of Sales and own a strategic book of 10–40 manufacturing clients, while also being responsible for developing new logo opportunities within a defined territory or vertical.


This role is a balanced 50/50 mix of expansion and new business:


  • Expanding revenue within high-value existing accounts that have strong relationships but significant untapped opportunity
  • Proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing net-new customers aligned to the company’s core offerings


Success requires a consultative sales approach, strong executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex manufacturing environments. This individual will develop growth strategies, identify whitespace, influence senior executives, and drive new programs that transform how clients operate.


Travel is expected.


Key Responsibilities


  • Own and grow a portfolio of strategic manufacturing accounts through expansion initiatives
  • Prospect, develop, and close net-new business opportunities within target manufacturing segments
  • Maintain a balanced pipeline across existing account growth and new logo acquisition
  • Identify and activate whitespace opportunities across cloud migrations, modernization programs, and new product adoption
  • Partner with solution, consulting, and delivery teams to position compelling cloud and services offerings
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite and operational leaders across both existing and prospective clients
  • Lead the full sales cycle for new revenue across both expansion and new business efforts
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, business cases, and executive-level presentations
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments and guide clients through technology-driven transformation
  • Stay up to date on manufacturing best practices, modernization trends, and emerging technologies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful scoping, handoff, and delivery of engagements
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and consistently exceed revenue targets


The Ideal Candidate Will Bring


  • Proven success in both account expansion and net-new business development within enterprise or upper mid-market accounts
  • Experience selling ERP, cloud solutions, modernization programs, or complex enterprise technology
  • Demonstrated ability to uncover operational inefficiencies and position tailored solutions
  • Strong executive presence and confidence engaging C-suite stakeholders
  • Understanding of manufacturing environments and the challenges of modernizing legacy operations
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder, matrixed, or family-run organizations
  • Background selling services, cloud transformations, or multi-phase technical programs
