As adoption of generative AI accelerates across industries, the company is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a Manager, Commercial Sales to lead and develop a high-performing team focused on expanding commercial revenue and customer adoption.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Commercial Sales Manager to lead a team of Account Executives and Account Managers responsible for selling a highly technical AI platform into startups, developers, product organizations, and enterprise teams building AI-powered products.
The ideal candidate is an operationally strong sales leader with excellent coaching instincts and experience helping teams navigate complex technical sales cycles. This individual should thrive in fast-moving environments, bring strong execution discipline, and be excited by the pace and opportunity within the AI ecosystem.
This leader will be responsible for driving team performance across pipeline generation, new business acquisition, customer expansion, forecasting accuracy, and quota attainment.
This is a full-time role based in San Francisco, CA.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Commercial Account Executives and Account Managers.
- Drive revenue growth by helping the team position and sell complex AI infrastructure and platform capabilities to commercial customers.
- Build strong forecasting discipline, pipeline management practices, and consistent sales execution across the organization.
- Coach reps through technical sales cycles involving developers, product leaders, AI teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Improve discovery, messaging, deal strategy, and value articulation across the sales organization.
- Partner cross-functionally with leadership, product, marketing, and customer teams to align go-to-market execution with company priorities.
- Ensure a steady flow of qualified pipeline through strong account planning and opportunity management.
- Foster a high-performance, high-accountability culture centered around curiosity, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze pipeline metrics, conversion data, and sales performance trends to identify opportunities for optimization and scale best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven track record leading and developing high-performing sales teams within SaaS, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, AI, or highly technical platform environments.
- Strong understanding of the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, technical evaluation, business case development, negotiation, expansion, and closing.
- Experience coaching teams through product-led or technical sales motions involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, inspire, and hold teams accountable in high-growth environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility internally and externally.
- Analytical mindset with experience leveraging sales data to improve forecasting, pipeline generation, conversion rates, and team performance.
- Strong organizational and operational discipline with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Interest in AI, developer platforms, and the infrastructure powering next-generation AI applications.
