Overview


A leading, growth-oriented financial services organization is seeking a Director of Paid Media to provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight across its paid digital acquisition channels.

This role owns the vision, execution, and optimization of paid media programs spanning social, streaming, and programmatic channels, with a mandate to drive customer acquisition, lead generation, and revenue growth at scale. The ideal candidate brings deep performance marketing expertise, strong people leadership, and experience operating in regulated environments.


Purpose of the Role


The Director, Paid Media is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive paid media strategy across Meta, YouTube, programmatic display, and Connected TV (CTV). This leader will manage budgets, performance analytics, creative collaboration, and team development to ensure media investments deliver measurable, scalable impact.


Key Responsibilities


Paid Media Strategy & Execution


  • Develop and execute paid media strategies aligned with acquisition, growth, and revenue objectives
  • Own performance across Meta, YouTube, programmatic display, and CTV channels
  • Lead structured testing frameworks across creative, audiences, bidding strategies, and placements
  • Identify and pilot new platforms, features, and beta opportunities to stay ahead of digital trends


Team Leadership & Collaboration


  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of paid media channel managers across social, streaming, and programmatic
  • Establish clear goals, performance standards, and optimization processes across the team
  • Partner closely with creative teams to scale high-performing, platform-native ad creative
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CRM, Marketing Operations, Analytics, and Compliance to ensure full-funnel alignment and regulatory adherence


Budget Ownership & Performance Optimization


  • Own media planning, budget allocation, pacing, and forecasting across all paid channels
  • Evaluate performance using key metrics such as CPL, ROAS, and conversion rates
  • Translate performance data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
  • Oversee reporting dashboards, KPI tracking, and regular performance reviews


Agency & Partner Management


  • Manage relationships with external agencies, media partners, and platform representatives
  • Ensure executional excellence, testing rigor, and continuous optimization across all partnerships


Reporting Structure


  • Reports to: VP, Marketing Acquisition & Operations
  • Manages: 3 direct reports (social, streaming, and programmatic channel managers)


Qualifications & Experience


  • 8+ years of progressive experience in paid media or performance marketing
  • 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing teams and large-scale budgets
  • Hands-on experience managing campaigns across Meta, YouTube, programmatic display, and/or CTV
  • Strong analytical fluency with paid media KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Proven success optimizing campaigns against CPL, ROAS, and conversion efficiency targets
  • Experience leading creative briefing processes and collaborating closely with creative teams
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-channel budgets and prioritize investment strategically
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and executive presence
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries strongly preferred


Education


  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Field of study: Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or related discipline
