*Remote Contract Opportunity*

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their CICS Systems Programmer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and can be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Act as lead architect on project teams; drive technical design and lead cross-functional technical teams.
• Research new and existing technologies to maintain competitive advantage and innovation.
• Evaluate training opportunities and make strategic recommendations.
• Perform system maintenance including patching, health checks, OS updates, and validation of operational changes.
• Investigate anomalies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Schedule complex system changes to mitigate operational risks.
• Provide after-hours support for projects and incident resolution; lead incident response and guide junior staff.
• Approve and finalize documentation prepared by less experienced staff; contribute to documentation for senior management.
• Use automation tools to improve efficiency, availability, and security of systems.
• Contribute to capacity planning and long-term strategic goals alongside Engineering and Architecture teams.
• Lead root cause analysis for technical incidents and coordinate fixes with vendors and internal teams.
• Offer expert-level problem resolution and mentoring to junior team members.
• Ensure adherence to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards.

What You'll Need to Have:

• Combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or related experience.
• CICS support expertise including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and SMP/E.
• Experience supporting z/OS CICS monitoring tools and systems.
• Strong CICS systems programming, z/OS systems programming, and z/OS diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical material.
• Strong written/verbal communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
• Customer-focused approach with proven ability to manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical team environments and project management.
• Ability to discuss complex topics with non-technical stakeholders including senior management.

What Would Be Great to Have:

• Certifications or specialized training in relevant technologies.
• Familiarity with Rexx scripting, Python, DB2, MQ, and new Z technologies.
• Interest in modern Z technology platforms from ISPF/TSO to GUI-based applications.

Pay Range: $48-$63/hr +
