Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Enterprise Architect position! This is a 12+ month contract opportunity based in Buffalo, NY and is open to local and remote candidates. If outside of Buffalo, the Solution Architect will travel to Buffalo every 4-6 weeks (Mon-Thurs in office). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
Position Overview
As an Enterprise Architect for the Consumer domain, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s technology strategy, landscape, and roadmap. In this role, you will serve as an integrative force across business and technology domains, establish trusted advisor partnerships with senior leaders, and drive the architecture of complex, high-priority initiatives that deliver significant business value. Your work will influence large-scale programs that are critical to the bank’s long-term success, ensuring scalable, resilient, and forward-looking solutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps that align with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term technology vision.
- Develop high-level architectural models and frameworks to support secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across the bank.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable solution architectures for engineering and delivery teams.
- Ensure all architectural solutions comply with regulations, internal risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
- Partner with product, business, and technology stakeholders across consumer platforms, client services, and core banking systems.
- Provide architectural oversight and governance throughout delivery, ensuring adherence to standards and execution of high-impact initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing expert architectural insight to inform decision-making.
- Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of solutions.
Expected Deliverables:
- Architecture Roadmaps: Visual and narrative representations of the existing and target architecture landscapes, including capability maps, system interactions, and technology stacks, that align technology capabilities with business goals across technology domains.
- High-Level Design Documents: Comprehensive documentation for major initiatives or programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business requirements.
- Architecture Principles and Standards: Defined guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance across technology solutions.
- Technology Assessments and Recommendations: Evaluations of emerging technologies, platforms, or vendor solutions with documented recommendations for adoption or integration.
- Gap Analyses and Impact Assessments: Identification of gaps between current and future states, along with assessments of business and technical impacts.
- Stakeholder Presentations and Briefings: Engaging executive-level presentations that communicate progress and outcomes to business and technology leaders.
- Reference Architectures and Patterns: Reusable templates and design patterns that accelerate solution delivery and promote architectural consistency.
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of cloud architecture experience, with 3+ years focused on Retail/Consumer technology within a financial institution.
- Strategic thinking with ability to align enterprise architecture to business outcomes across complex financial ecosystems.
- Deep knowledge of consumer banking, customer engagement, risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions across modern and legacy systems.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Skilled in integrating diverse systems, platforms, and data sources to support seamless customer experiences.
- Experience with cloud, APIs, microservices, data platforms, and integration patterns.
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture tools, modeling techniques, and documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and secure architecture best practices.
- Ability to model business capabilities, value streams, and technical landscapes.
- Experience with platforms such as Hogan, Genesys, item processing, ATMs, pricing, and workflow systems.
- Knowledge of institutional banking products including capital markets, M&A, and investment management.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills at the executive level.
- Experience with agile, DevOps, and product-centric delivery models.
- Knowledge of architectural diagramming practices and software delivery methods.
- Experience leading change, enabling innovation, and driving enterprise transformation.
Pay Range: $60-$75+/hr
