Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to hire a DevOps Engineer (with expertise in Automation & Observability) to support mission-critical banking applications. This is a 12-18+ month contract opportunity with a preference for 2 days on site in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Partner with offshore engineering teams to drive delivery of DevOps and resiliency initiatives, serving as the onshore point of coordination and accountability
  • Design, build, and standardize GitLab CI/CD pipelines across multiple lines of business to improve consistency, scalability, and release velocity
  • Develop and maintain observability solutions using tools like Kibana and Dynatrace, including dashboards, linking dashboards, alerting, and cross-platform visibility
  • Create unified monitoring views that provide actionable insights across systems, applications, and business units
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities leveraging vendor and custom APIs to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Build and maintain reusable automation patterns using tools such as Ansible
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, infrastructure, product) to improve system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement of DevOps practices, resiliency strategies, and operational standards


What You’ll Need to Have


  • Proven experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role within complex, enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including design, implementation, and optimization
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Kibana, Dynatrace, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of automation frameworks and scripting, with experience leveraging APIs and tools like Ansible
  • Experience working with distributed/offshore teams, with the ability to drive alignment and execution across time zones
  • Strong understanding of system resiliency, monitoring, and alerting best practices
  • Ability to think in terms of scalable, reusable solutions rather than one-off fixes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface across technical and non-technical stakeholders


Pay Range: $70-$74/hr
