Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Technical Engineer IV position! This is a 12+ month contract and will be remote in the United States.

This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and manage Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto firewall infrastructure across the enterprise environment
• Build and maintain firewall rule sets, ensuring proper segmentation, access control, and security policy enforcement
• Architect and support Azure network and firewall solutions, including virtual network gateways and cloud-based security controls
• Collaborate with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design and execute technical solutions
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to research, test, and implement new or expanded network security systems
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, reviewing their documentation, proposals, and proposed changes
• Analyze routing and network traffic patterns, applying strong understanding of VGP and related protocols to optimize firewall operations
• Ensure adherence to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards, escalating risk-related issues to management as needed
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of vendor technologies, industry best practices, and evolving networking standards

What You'll Need to Have

• 8+ years of combined education and/or work experience in systems design, engineering, or infrastructure architecture
• Hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewall (preferred) or a strong background with other enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto
• Proven experience with firewall rule engineering, network segmentation, and access control policy management
• Strong understanding of Azure networking and firewall technologies, including virtual network gateways
• Solid understanding of routing, virtual gateway protocol (VGP), and core networking concepts
• Enterprise-level experience within a highly-regulated industry such as banking, healthcare, or defense
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers
• CISSP, Checkpoint Firewall, or Aviatrix certifications are a plus but not required

Pay Range: $80-88/hr
