Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Data Steward position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid on site in Buffalo, New York 4 days per week. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. 


What You'll Be Doing:

 

  • Build and enhance customer data assets within a Customer 360 / Customer Data Platform (CDP) using the Amperity platform
  • Write advanced SQL (including complex CTEs) to transform raw source data into unified, customer-level attributes
  • Profile, explore, and validate unfamiliar datasets—asking the right questions to fully understand data structure and business context
  • Design and architect how data flows from source systems into the Customer 360 model with precision and efficiency
  • Aggregate and harmonize data to support identity resolution and customer profile creation
  • Build and maintain customer attributes used for marketing targeting and analytics
  • Debug data issues and perform deep data profiling to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Monitor data pipelines, ingestion workflows, and processing jobs to ensure successful execution
  • Manage development lifecycle activities, including sandbox builds, QA/QC collaboration, and promotion to production
  • Document all work thoroughly in Confluence, including logic, transformations, and data flows
  • Track and manage work through Jira within Agile Scrum (2-week sprints, PI planning)
  • Collaborate with team members, QA partners, and leadership to ensure deliverables meet acceptance criteria and are production-ready
  • Independently manage multiple concurrent stories and priorities, driving work from intake through completion


What You’ll Need to Have:


  • Advanced SQL expertise (non-negotiable), including:
  • Complex CTEs
  • Efficient query design and optimization
  • Building scalable data transformations
  • Write advanced SQL (including complex CTEs) to transform raw source data into unified, customer-level attributes
  • Strong experience with data profiling, debugging, and root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous or unfamiliar data and turn it into structured, usable models
  • Experience working within a data platform, data warehouse, or CDP environment (Amperity experience is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, managing work across sprints and tracking progress to completion
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for workflow management and documentation
  • Strong understanding of data flows, data modeling concepts, and transformation logic
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter mindset with strong curiosity and able to work independently, ask insightful questions, and drive clarity
  • High attention to detail with a strong instinct for identifying when data “doesn’t look right”
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams, SMEs, and leadership


What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or building Customer 360 solutions
  • Experience in financial services


 

Pay Range: $45-55/hr
